Disabled players
We welcome players with various disabilities. Winner of the Government-backed Sportsmatch Special Award for ‘Best Disability Programme in England’, we are committed to encouraging and catering for all players, making every effort to fully involve and create opportunities for disabled footballers at all levels.
Our National Hear The Cheer project was created to ensure deaf and hard of hearing youngsters were not side-lined in sport. Enabling players to be fully engaged, we offered sign language training to all our staff, making Hear The Cheer the first and most successful National dedicated football programme in Europe.
Our adult qualification courses also incorporate disability coaching, ensuring the next generation of coaches are fully equipped to involve players with a range of disabilities.
